UPDATES - 2008
Music
Business Classes
Starting
September Macomb Community College will have two semester classes on
the Music Business. Each semester is $365.00 and is on Tuesdays
from 6:30 - 9:30, and earns the student a Music Certificate as well as
coaching and an opportunity to be considered for an internship.
These classes will cover subjects on copyright, music publishing,
developoing a budget, marketing, branding, merchandising and touring,
developing a press kit, learning what a manager does, and many
more. The first class starts on September 16, and ends December
9. The second semester starts on Jan. 20 and ends on April

Storytellers 2008
This
exciting one-day event will be held on Labor
Day weekend during Arts Beats and Eats in Downtown Pontiac - Sunday,
August 31st. It is a wonderful event sponsored by The Bridge Church and The
CAMP. Listen to some of the Detroit area's finest
independent Christian
artists under the shade. It is the absolute best place at the
festival to listen to great music. We are
currently looking for sponsors for 2008. If you are interested

CAMP
Artists and Volunteers Get In4Life
The CAMP partnered with Prison
Fellowship for its In4Life campaign in April. Rufus Harris, Sonnie Day, Crisi, The Mad
Prophets, and Joe
Gautier were a part of a team of both artists and volunteers who
went into 10 prisons in 4 days to share the Gospel with
prisoners. The event was a huge success and opened the door for
future opportunies for CAMP artists and volunteers to get involved in

in Flushing
2ndFridays in Flushing has been
postponed for the time being. We'll keep you informed of any
udates.
"Cowman: The
Moosical"
Come out to this fun,
family-friendly comedy show featuring funnyman - Joe Gautier. The
event will benefit the CAMP. Tickets are $30. More details
coming soon.
3rd Mondays in Milan
Prison Fellowship in conjunction
with the CAMP is holding an event every 3rd Monday of the month at
MIlan Correctional Facility in Milan, Michigan. The event
features, musicians, poets, speakers, comedians and more...Artists
interested in sharing in prison, should contact the CAMP for details.

2007
Highlights
4thFridays
4thFridays celebrated five years of Good Music, Good Coffee and Good
Company in March of this year. We received a congratulatory
letter
from Governor Granholm which was read at our March event. Click

As we wind down for 2007, we can't help but praise God for making this
all possible. What an incredible year! We look
forward to bringing you more exciting shows God willing for years to

Institutional Ministry
Denise
Strong - events director at the CAMP accepted a full-time
position at Prison Fellowship as Field Director for Southeastern
Michigan. She is responsible for in-prison events and assisting
men
and women comng out. This new position will be a great
opportunity to
involve CAMP artists in more prison ministry opportunities.
The CAMP will be partnering
with Prison Fellowship this summer and will be once again recruiting
artists for prison ministry. We are also looking for solo acts
for Oakwood Hospital's Arts for the Spirit program. Let us know if you
are interested in these opportunities. Also check out a great

The video
shows the positive effects of prison ministry on the community at
large. It features Beth Stalker as the
girl, Rufus, Arnold Nevels, and Noel Stalker as the three men.
Come
and Listen Benefit Concert for Angel Tree
In
December Rufus Harris performed Christmas
songs from his newest release Come and Listen at a benefit concert of
the same name on Friday, December 28th at 7pm at Dexter United
Methodist church in Dexter, Michigan. The concert raised money
for
Prison Fellowship's Angel Tree - a ministry that reaches out to the
children of prisoners in Michigan. The CAMP partners with Prison
Fellowship throughout the year as part of its institutional ministry.

Tapestry
Fundraiser
The fundraiser was a success.
We raised $10,000. It was an extraordinary evening
that featured performances by: DSO violinist - Ann Strubler, Jazz
Artist - Paul Dozier, Rufus Harris, Jump Street Swing Band, Singer -
Jack Stock, and Ann's sons - Last in Line. If you couldn't
